Naissance  en 1952 à Constantine.

Peu pressée et curieuse, elle a pris le temps, avec gourmandise, de suivre des chemins buissonniers qui, de la sculpture, en passant par les découpages de grands contreplaqués peints où elle taillait à vif dans la couleur, l’ont conduite très naturellement à la peinture. Elle s’y consacre exclusivement depuis une quinzaine d’années.

La galerie Protée défend dorénavant son travail, il correspond à notre attachement à la pratique de la peinture dont nous entendons démontrer la vitalité toujours actuelle. Laks en a assimilé toutes les possibilités, mais la technique seule ne serait qu’exercice de style. En touches légères, subtiles, complexes, entêtées, elle enroule la lumière dans sa trame noue la couleur dans ses nœuds, la fait vibrer au maximum, dilate les espaces. Patiemment elle emprisonne dans ses filets la grâce poétique  d’un monde où s’incarne avec délicatesse, ce spirituel sans lequel il n’y a pas d’art.

On a pu voir ses grands formats en 2006 au grand réservoir du Kremlin-Bicêtre et en 2007 au centre d’art contemporain de Montbéliard ainsi qu’au musée de Sens.

With deliberateness and curiosity, she has taken her time, savoring it along the way, to follow the path she embarked upon as she came from sculpture, by way of cutouts of painted wood, and which brought her quite naturally to painting.  She has devoted her time to painting for the past fifteen years.

The Galerie Protée now promotes her work, which fits well with our professional commitment to the practice of painting, whose very vitality we aim to showcase.  Laks has assimilated all the possibilities of painting, but technique alone would only be an exercise in style. With light, subtle touches, both complex and stubborn, she wraps light into her loom, ties colors into her bows, makes it shimmer, expands space.  She patiently captures in her nets the poetic grace of a world from which emanates finesse,  that spirit without which there is no art.

Her large paintings were displayed in 2006 at the great reservoir of Kremlin-Bicetre and in 2007 at the center for contemporary art of Montbeliard, as well as at the Museum of Sens.
